We strive to prevent or reduce waste at the source and minimize our impact on the environment through good engineering practices. We will continue to research and implement best practices that will provide sustainable development to environmental programs integrated in the hotel.

Secrets Wild Orchid was certified by Travelife for sustainable operational programs. Travelife is an international certification scheme which has been developed by the travel industry for the travel industry. They assist over 1,300 hotel members worldwide to reduce their impact on the environment.

The team at Secrets Wild Orchid strives toward minimizing its footprint on the environment ; we aim at improving the hotel’s performance, reducing the use of energy and water and the production of waste. Employees are educated through environmental seminars, shoreline and beach clean-ups .

Secrets Wild Orchid displays the vibrancy and authenticity of the Jamaican culture. We educate our guests thorough our daily Nature Walk , Jamaican Talk and Cooking Classes and weekly Local Craft Fair . The hotel has partnered with several external cultural entities to enrich the guests’ experience. Our outreach includes enhancing and beautifying schools , children’s homes ,infirmaries , local government sites and other businesses in support of local economic development.
